With passage booked for them by Inquisitor Kalta Ferrus the team headed off to Barsapine without pause. The warp journey was blessedly free from incident and surprisingly quick with Acolyts arriving approximately 21 days later. The team was shuttled down to a star-port in Kephistron Altis and provided transportation to the Gilded Cathedral. Upon arrival the team met with Abbot Jurutas, and he provided them with quarters and access to the Librarium.

Heading straight to the Librarium with intent to research the history of the planet and look for clues that may lead to the source of the demonic hand from Thrungg’s collection, the Acolytes discovered serval documents of use. Uncovering several passages that link an entity named the Die-Phage with the fortress-like Haematite Cathedral the group decided to investigate the Cathedral.

The next morning as the Acolytes left the Gilded Cathedral they were set upon by a crazy cult of heretics led by a rogue psyker. The fight was brief but bloody with a grenade mishap almost killing two team members. With blood and body parts strewn about the front steps of the Cathedral the party limped back inside to tend to their wounded.

The Acolytes successfully participated in the assault orchestrated by Scintillan Special Forces and led by Captain Scipio. Having grav-dropped into the false chapel within the Thrungg compound the team quickly dispatched a few house guards and a Gun-Servitor equipped with a heavy bolter. Searching around the Chapel the group found the body of a dead priest and several sermon notes written with the intent to lead parishioners on a slow course to heresy. It was then that the team recieved a call from Captain Scipio with a request to cut off the traitor Bulagor Thrungg who had retreated to his Menagerie.

Enrout to assist the team discovered a terrified servent girl who provided a key to the Menagerie and several details about how the noble had done some terrible ritual to himself. With the teams assistance she was able to escape. When the team made it it to the Menagerie they preped themselves for assault and entered, the scene before them was chaos. Birds flew everywhere deflecting shots and causing terrible amounts of noise. Thrungg stood in the middle of the room with two grotesque creatures on leashes and a corrupted left arm. The team showed no mercy to the heretic and executed him and his beasts, upon his death the demonic arm he used as a weapon slide off to reveal the hacked stump of his own arm beneath.

A search of the compound revealed the collection for which the Acolytes had come. It lay hidden beneath the altar of the false chapel and contained many treasures both blessed and heretical. One item in particular which seemed out of place turned out to be a record of Thrungg’s attempts to discover more information about the demonic hand. Turning over the evidence to the inquisition did not result in a reward of rest. Instead, following the the leads found in Thrungg’s records the team was dispatched to the planet of Barsapine and the Gilded Cathedral on it’s surface.

After a long investigation into a rumored ‘Museum of Apostasy’ on Scintilla, Inquisitor Ferrus’ plans have paid off. With the actions of the heretical and degenerate noble Bulagor Thrugg having been brought to light by his recent purchase of a planted ‘artefact’ she has asked several of her acolytes planet-side to ensure the apprehension of Thrugg is completed, and any additional ‘items of interest’ are properly confiscated as evidence.
